Archive of Forgotten Vibrations: Solo

Lost Solo is the final performance in a three-part body of work. As the larger work progressed, the movement became increasingly condensed until I arrived at—and remained with—the most essential movement for the duration of this final performance. The piece is an exercise in distillation and endurance, staying with what remains once excess is stripped away.

Above me, ice hangs and slowly melts, dripping onto my body throughout the performance. The ice introduces an external temporal structure—melting, gravity, inevitability—that interacts with my internal timing and somatic attention. The work holds a quiet tension between stillness and change, exposure and containment, and reflects my ongoing interest in how bodies adapt to conditions they cannot control.
