Hard to Watch

Hard to Watch is a durational solo dance performance that engages involuntary movement and altered internal states. The work arises from my interest in how trauma fractures the experience of time in the body and how those fractures surface through movement that is not consciously authored or controlled.

By staying with the movement state the performance allows involuntary impulses to emerge, revealing the body’s attempts to regulate, resist, or discharge sensation. Hard to Watch does not attempt to resolve anything; instead it invites the audience into the tension as it unfolds.
