Kat Brown is a multidisciplinary artist whose work integrates dance, performance and visual art. Kat’s work has been presented in New York City at Movement Research, Jonah Baker Arts Foundation, Center for Performance Research and Triskelion Arts and has been commissioned by Leimay at CAVE. In the greater U.S. she has been presented in San Francisco at CounterPulse and Fort Mason Center for the Arts and in Philadelphia at Icebox Project Space as a Cannonball artist at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Internationally she has been presented by Choreographic Figures (Vienna) Lake Studios (Berlin), Sozo, Visions in Motion (Kassel) and Impulstanz (Vienna). Kat’s practice has been supported by residencies and fellowships at Impulstanz’s Atlas Program (Vienna) Sozo, Visions in Motion (Kassel) Performing Arts Forum (St. Erme) LEIMAY (Brooklyn) Motive (Brooklyn), Leimay (Brooklyn) among others. Kat holds an MFA in Performance + Performance Studies from Pratt Institute and a MA in Performance Studies from New York University. Her practice has been supported by additional training in Gibney’s professional training program and through Melanie Maar’s Process as Guide DIY MFA.
